The Rue Obscure is a magical place that plunges you into the medieval Villefranche.
Located along the first rampart, Rue Obscure was initially uncovered and was the continuity of the defensive parade route. It is 130 meters long and is accessible by the Robert portal, among others, the only door still visible to enter the old town.
Subsequently it was the subject of an urbanization not regular to fill the lack of dwellings street of the Poilu. It is registered with the Historical Monuments since 1932.
Jean Cocteau painted a painting, a reproduction of which is at the entrance to Rue Obscure.
