The Beaulieu Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1899 by Sir Blundell Maple. In 1921, he welcomed the "great" Suzanne Lenglen for a match against the Australian Miss Ryan. During the winters of 1947-48 the daily presence of King Gustav V of Sweden added an extra touch to the already great prestige of this remarkable complex. Two major tournaments on an exceptional clay court since 1985, the international tournament of Veterans grade 2 brings together more than 230 participants from 24 different nationalities and has become one of the main events of the circuit of veterans.
Since 1996, the Tennis Club has organized the International Junior Tournament counting for the World Championship and reveals to the public the future glories of World Tennis. This International Open is the first tournament in rank 1 after that of Roland Garros. Novak Djokovic, Juan-Carlo Ferrero, Richard Gasquet, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils ... but also Justine Henin, Marion Bartoli, Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka, Dinara Safina, Alizee Cornet ... have all come to the tennis court from Beaulieu-sur-Mer to their beginnings.See the site
